About Us by Shippers Supply

We have served the area for 35 years and look forward to serving you.

                 “Where Industry Shops……..since 1971”

Our History:

Shippers Supply had a humble beginning in Mr. G.R. (Red) Easley’s basement. Mr. Easley had retired after 37 years in the strapping industry. He was affectionly called “Mr. Strapping” in an industry magazine for his pioneering work in the textile industry and car loading techniques. He contacted his two sons, Robert & Richard about starting a packaging, shipping supply company. Robert was in the U.S. Army in 1971and Richard was a factory representative with a national tape manufacturer.

Starting on a “shoe string” and a lot of faith in God and friends, Shippers Supply spent their first three years in Mr. Easley’s basement. All trucks were unloaded, deliveries were made and invoicing etc. was all done “In House”. A new neighbor complained to the city about the tractor trailers delivering to us, and forced us to move out and hire our first employee in 1974. We were now forced to “show a profit”.. or.. “Go Home”!

Mr. Red Easley worked with the company until he was 90 years old. Mr. Richard Easley’s wife tragically developed cancer and he decided to retire and spend some quality time with her. Mr. Robert Easley continues on today as President.
